Why we love it: Michelle Williams’s platinum bob is iconic within the short hair fan clubs—but now the Manchester By The Sea actress just went even shorter. On the Oscars red carpet, Williams showed off a fresh, choppy pixie that looks like a 2017 version of Mia Farrow.

Why we love it: We didn’t expect to see a platinum Kim Kardashian return once again, but it’s 2017, and anything can happen. It’s around this time that the “new year, new you” chants have exhausted themselves. If, like us, you’re feeling a little burnt out at work or at trying to keep up with your fitness resolutions and clean-eating regimen, then you’re probably also looking for something to look forward to. Spring is in so many ways symbolic of a reawakening. It’s this seasonal rebirth that affords us our own personal renaissance, one that we’re intensely happy for, especially if — and, let’s be honest, when — those resolutions have become a little worse for wear. With the upcoming change in seasons, we’re most excited for what’s trending in hair. This is the year to go for those layers or test-drive some eye-grazing bangs — which is perfect for those out there who are afraid of a major chop.

What it looks like: “This is the perfect go-to for women with straight and fine hair or straight and thick hair,” Reyman said of the short chop. The straightforward cut may not necessarily be new, but it definitely feels on-trend for 2017. Short hair, bobs, and lobs are definitely still “in.”

What it looks like: “A soft undercut is used to remove bulk from the interior and to add texture to the baseline,” explained Anh Co Tran, L’Oréal Professionnel international stylist and co-owner of Ramirez Tran Salon. “It’s a really popular style and people are just catching on — this will definitely be a big trend in 2017.”

Why we love it: Kristen Stewart is blonde again. Oh, yeah, and she shaved her head. Of all the hairstyles in the world, this is probably the most difficult to pull-off. Yet Stewart wears it expertly and with the confidence of someone who has had a shaved head for years, not hours. The new cut just highlights her edgy style even more—and for that, we absolutely love it.
